Privacy

The short version

We collect nothing unless you fill in the quote form. There are no cookies on this site and no account to create. If you do send the form, we pass it to installers in your county and delete it after a year.

What the form collects

Only what you type: your home's type, age, rating and heating, the upgrades you are interested in, your county, an optional routing key from your Eircode, your name, your email address, an optional phone number and an optional note.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Because you asked us to. The form does nothing until you tick the box that asks us to pass your details to installers. That consent is our only legal basis for handling your details, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

Lawful basis: consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Withdrawal has no effect on sharing that already happened before you withdrew.

Who receives it

The installers you ticked on the form — up to five of them — so they can quote you. If you tick none, we pick up to three registered with SEAI in your county, and you can tell us not to contact a particular firm. Once an installer has your details they are responsible for them, and their own privacy policy applies. We never sell your details, to installers or to anyone else.

The names, counties and contact details we show you come from SEAI's own public registers of contractors, One Stop Shops and solar companies, copied on the date printed at the foot of each list.

Three services handle your details on our behalf and nothing more: our web host, the service that delivers the email, and our email provider. None of them use your details for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Your form arrives as an email. There is no database. We delete the email twelve months after it arrives, or sooner if you ask.

Getting it deleted

Email us and say which request was yours. We will delete what we hold, tell you we have done it, and ask the installers we passed it to do the same. You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to correct it.

Analytics

We count visits with Plausible, which sets no cookies, stores no personal data and does not follow you across websites. We see how many people read a page and which page they came from. We cannot see who you are. If we have not set analytics up on this build, the tag is not on the page at all.

The detail, if you want it

What is stored where. The site itself is a set of static files — no server of ours reads anything you do on it. The form posts once to a small function that checks the fields and sends an email. Nothing is written to disk.

Anti-abuse. The function counts how many submissions arrive from one internet address in a minute and rejects the sixth. That count lives in memory for a minute and is not kept.

Your rights under GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent. Email us for any of them; we answer within a month and usually within two working days.

Children. This site is for homeowners. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.

Changes. If we change any of this, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
