Installers · SEAI registers · Read 25 Sep 2026

378 SEAI-registered heat pump installers say they work in Kildare and Wicklow. In Donegal, 138 do.

SEAI lists 2,624 companies on its registers for grant work (read 25 September 2026). Each one ticks the counties it covers, often a whole province, so these counts show who says they work there. Registration is a fact about paperwork. SEAI doesn’t endorse anyone’s work, and we don’t rank them.

A company that works across a province is counted in every county of that province, because that is what it told SEAI. A count is choice, not capacity.

Each bar counts the businesses one public register lists. One business can be on several registers, so the bars add up to more than 8,043. SEAI's three registers (grant work, One Stop Shops, solar panels) are the ones that matter for a grant; the others are trade registers we read for cross-checks. RGII gas installers, Safe Electric contractors and OFTEC oil technicians: we could not read these registers in full.

What “SEAI-registered” means, and what it doesn’t

A fact about paperwork, then the four things SEAI tells you to do before you sign.

A company on this register has signed up to SEAI’s terms for grant work and can claim a grant on your behalf. If you want a grant, the work has to be done by one of them.

It does not mean SEAI has inspected their work, or that we have. There is no score, no star rating and no order of merit on this site: the lists are sorted by where a company is based and what it is registered for, and nothing else.

A company can ask to be taken off these pages at any time. Email us and it is done the same week, no reason needed. The register itself is SEAI’s; we only copy it.

  1. Wait for your grant approval email before any work starts. SEAI does not pay for work that began before it was approved.
  2. Get at least three quotes, and check each one covers the same job. The cheapest quote is often the one that leaves something out.
  3. Check the company is on the register on the day you sign. Companies join and leave it, and this page is a copy taken on one day.
  4. Get it in writing: what is being done, what it costs, when it starts and when it is finished.
